What are common signs of a roof leak?

Roof leaks can be caused by a failing membrane or from poor quality workmanship in wall termination or around roof penetrations, such as vents, drains, skylights, scuppers, pipe boots, etc. Be on the lookout for ceiling discoloration, floor dampness or water streaking down any walls which can be a sign of water penetration. Also watch for dark areas on your roof, ponding water, and exterior decay.

However, bear in mind that sometimes the cause of a leak is as small as a pinhole and may require advanced roofing knowledge. If you suspect that your roof might need to be repaired or replaced, contact us. During our free, no-obligation inspection, we will point out any necessary repairs or replacements your roof might need for long term protection.

How do I care for and maintain my new roof to ensure a long, useful service life?

Regular roof inspections, keeping your roof clear of debris, and periodic roof cleaning with water and detergent can help to keep your roof in good shape.

Care & Maintenance Guide

How do I know which roofing product is best for my business or home?

During your obligation-free inspection, our roofing professionals will assess your needs and explain the pros and cons of the many different types of quality single-ply roofing membranes that we offer. We’ll help you select best product for your particular situation.

What is the difference between “mechanically attached” and “fully adhered” roofs, and how do I know which method to choose?

The attachment option you choose depends on the requirements of your particular home or building. “Mechanically attached” roofs are secured with fasteners down all membrane seams. This seals the roof system into place. Mechanical attachment is a quick, low-cost way to install roofing systems.

In contrast, the “fully adhered” attachment method uses an adhesive to “glue down” the roofing membrane. While this method is a bit more labor intensive, it also typically lasts a little longer than mechanically attached installations. It also has a smoother appearance and acts as an air barrier.

During your free, no-obligation inspection our roofing contractors will discuss these options with you in detail and help you to decide which attachment is best for your application.

How do I know if I need a roof replacement or just a repair?

If you only have damage on small portions of your roof, repairing leaks or replacing shingles is relatively inexpensive. However, if the problem is more severe or if part of your roof is beginning to wear, replacing your roof is often more cost-effective in the long run than repairing it and any related water damage, while compromising the building roof deck integrity.

How long will my roofing system last?

With proper care and regular inspections, most roofs will last about 20 years, and most of our roofing products come with warranties that last that long. We also provide a two to five year company workmanship warranty.
